The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH)is delighted and proud to be hosting ECTMIH 2019 in Liverpool, UK on behalf of the Federation of European Societies for Tropical Medicine and International Health (FESTMIH).
Every two years, ECTMIH brings together more than 1,500 scientists and experts from across the world. The Congress provides a platform for sharing research and innovation in the field of tropical medicine and global health. Contacts are made, networks are strengthened, and new partnerships are formed. It also acts as a forum for reflection on the role of tropical medicine and global health, taking into account the biggest trends of the twenty-first century, such as human migration and climate change.
The conference tracks are: (1) Prevention; (2) treatment/patient care; (3) One Health and young researchers; (4) Health systems; (5) Age-related healthcare; and (6) External factors influencing future health.
2019 has specific significance for the tropical medicine community, as it will mark the 25th anniversary of FESTMIH, of which RSTMH is a proud member. This will form a great opportunity to reflect on how much progress has been made in the last quarter of a century in terms of investigation, innovation and implementation, and is a chance to consider what we can expect from the next 25 years for tropical medicine and global health.
The call for abstracts is open, read about the aim and background of ECTMIH, the programme, and how to submit an abstract on the congress website.
