Andreas is an infectious diseases physician and researcher specialising in malaria epidemiology. He is currently based at the Burnet Institute in Melbourne, Australia, where he leads research on non-falciparum malaria in Papua New Guinea, integrating epidemiological, genetic, and statistical approaches to enhance surveillance and control strategies. He is also affiliated with Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, where he contributes to research on malaria in travellers and migrants. In addition, he holds a clinical position as an infectious diseases specialist at Västerås Hospital, Sweden.
