The 6th European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health is held in Verona, Italy. This Congress will deal with the classical aspects of Tropical Medicine including basic science, diagnostic /therapeutics, clinical tropical medicine and disease control, but International Health will not be a minor component, the central focus being on the main theme of Equity, Human Rights and Access to Care.
A key theme of the event will be the transferability of research into practice, exploring how research outcomes are (or are not) applied to policy and practice, and addressing the health research gap between the global North and South. Topics will include the space given to global health in medical journals, the role of Southern researchers, and funding challenges for health system research. Participants are encouraged to use the congress as a platform for open debate and to propose practical, evidence-based solutions to benefit those most in need.
