Esther Jurgens

Esther Jurgens holds a Master’s degree in medical sociology with additional training in research, programme management and planning. 

Her professional career includes working for UNICEF in Latin America and other organizations in the health care and welfare sector, in the Netherlands and in low- and middle-income countries. 

For more than 27 years she has worked in global health and international development, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) including HIV/AIDS and SRHR commodities, health systems strengthening, and gender.

In addition to her work as a global health consultant, Esther works as policy advisor with the Netherlands Society for Tropical Medicine and International Health and as Co-ordinator of FESTMIH. She also works as tutor and trainer at the Maastricht University in the Master Global Health Programme.
