Dr Pedro Berzosa Díaz. Head of the Laboratory for Scientific-Technical Cooperation in Tropical Diseases of the National Centre for Tropical Medicine-Institute of Health Carlos III (Madrid, Spain).
For 25 years I have been working in malaria in the line of antimalarial resistance, genetic variability of P. falciparum and, medical entomology. My work focuses on working with the National Malaria Program of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Equatorial Guinea. From my laboratory we provide technical support to the program in therapeutic efficacy studies, prevalence studies and, technical training for malaria diagnosis, as well as training in molecular biology to technicians of the Reference Laboratory of Baney (Malabo, Equatorial Guinea).
I have developed projects in Puerto Iguazu (Argentina), Ethiopia, although I am more focused on Equatorial Guinea.
I teach two master's degrees, one at the Universidad Complutense (Madrid) and one at the University of Salamanca. In addition, I am director of the Course of Diagnosis of tropical diseases that we carry out together with the National School of Health.
