The Swedish Society for Tropical Medicine was founded in 1961. Its aim is to promote the development of tropical-and travel medicine in terms of clinical management, education and research, through networking in the field.
Activities:
- Promote the development of tropical-and travel medicine
- Organize an annual scientific session in the field
- Establish information networks and organize meetings and seminars in collaboration with other organizations and groups in tropical-and travel medicine and global health
- Highlight migration medicine issues
- Provide information and contacts to health students wishing to carry out research projects in tropical medicine
- Collaborate with the European Federation of Associations of Tropical Medicine and International Health
